My inspiration derives from an active interest into astronomy, specifically the search for life on other planets, but also science fiction. I am observing accomplishments in space exploration, new technological developments and perceive how I am getting influenced by this knowledge.
In my work I am trying to visualize the atmosphere which is evolving in me through this research and to express, through the limitation of my comprehension, a feeling for the unknown.

On one side I am investigating in the unimaginable within nature. I am inventing creatures, movements and environments, in two and three dimensional media. Part of this are electrically driven sculptures I call “Vibrant Anima”.
On the other side I am inquiring in physical movements and happenings within a bodily experience. In a simply called “kinetic installation” the viewer has the possibility to get integrated into a installation and to cause or intervene in a movement.

I want to keep on elaborate and develop these two fields but also stay open for new working methods.
I hope to open a discussion about our understanding of life and creation.
But sharing my curiosity and fascination for worlds, which lie beyond our understanding, is my main driving force.

Impact

The current project deals with the notion of impact through gravitational attraction.
The impact of two planets which resulted in the constellation of the earth and the moon. The many impacts a planet goes through during its early life, and the evidence we can still see as craters - big scares imprinted by unimaginable forces lying beyond our known reality.
How can our understanding deal with this kind of happenings? Visualization, scientific analyzation and philosophical contemplation, are possibilities that guide my process.

The Nightmare of Infinity

Infinity manifest itself in something which is not graspable, not logically to explain. It just leaves a confused and empty feeling behind. Makes me maybe a bit nauseous. When I was younger I often had this dream in which I experienced a scary feeling of infinity and endless chaos, I would switch between the micro and the macro cosmos, just to see that infinity doesn´t stop at any end. And if I would try to relax and give myself to it, what I just learn recently, I would be left with nothingness and silence. I realized that I could find my dream in outer space and with that a big fascination for stars and planets, and they way how matter and energy can work together, arose.
In my work I am expressing my curiosity for movement, or in the broader sense, forces which are affecting not only the earth but everything in the universe, such as gravitation. But also movement as a quality of life. I am researching in the field of physics, planets and insects. Reading about the string-theory for example inspired a performance, in which I was holding a pseudo-scintific lecture. In another one I was trying to hypnotizes my audience. The aim was here to manipulate the believes of my audience and to pushing into different perspectives in a playful, game like way. Especially in two dimensional works a child is directing the pencil or brush. I like to see creatures in stains and let the lines come out of the paper intuitively.
Ii is also a intuitive way how I follow my desire of researching universal truth, how one leads to another. With the help of a simple material, such as styrofoam, I am learning about creation, infinity and complexity or just about the features of the material. Important for me is the process of working, the concentration on details and the experience within the work. The experience is also important when it comes to the viewer. My aim is to create some kind of interaction, mental but also physical. Therefor I am trying to be very honest and clear in the installations, without hiding or overlaying the components.
Technology as well plays a important role in my artistic interest. I am making use of electronic devises, such as engines, to bring movement into objects.
In the future I want to advance the abilities of communication in my work through intensifying the outcome of a research and bringing the information into a relation of a physical object, respectively want my research to be clearly visible in my work.
